Method
1: Using your Distribution's Package Manager (Recommended) This method ensures compatibility with your system's kernel and simplifies future updates. For Ubuntu/Debian and related distributions (Mint, Kali, Pop!_OS):
Update package lists: bash
sudo apt update
Identify the recommended driver: You can use the ubuntu-drivers tool to find the best driver for your hardware: bash
ubuntu-drivers devices
This command will list available drivers and indicate the recommended version. Install the recommended driver: bash
sudo apt install nvidia-driver-535 # Replace 535 with the recommended version number
Alternatively, for an automatic selection: bash
sudo ubuntu-drivers autoinstall
Reboot your system: bash
sudo reboot now
fedora sudo dnf install gcc kernel-headers kernel-devel akmod-nvidia xorg-x11-drv-nvidia xorg-x11-drv-nvidia-libs xorg-x11-drv-nvidia-power nvidia-settings
sudo reboot https://plafon.gitbook.io/fedora-zero/fedora-zero/videokarta/nvidia/install_nvidia_drivers
For Fedora/CentOS/RHEL (using DNF): Drivers are usually available through repositories like RPMFusion.
Enable the necessary repositories (e.g., RPMFusion nonfree): (Commands vary by Fedora/RHEL version, refer to distribution documentation for exact steps). Install the driver: bash
sudo dnf install akmod-nvidia # Installs the driver using DKMS # Optionally, install CUDA tools: sudo dnf install xorg-x11-drv-nvidia-cuda #
Reboot your system: bash
sudo systemctl reboot
For Arch Linux:
Install the driver: bash
sudo pacman -S nvidia nvidia-utils # Use nvidia-dkms for DKMS support
Reboot your system.
Method 2: Using the Official NVIDIA .run File This method provides the very latest driver directly from NVIDIA but requires manual intervention and might conflict with future kernel updates.
Download the driver: Visit the NVIDIA driver download page and select your GPU and OS to get the .run file URL. Use wget to download it in the terminal: bash
wget us.download.nvidia.com # Example URL
Install prerequisites: bash
sudo apt install linux-headers-$(uname -r) build-essential dkms # Ubuntu/Debian example
Stop the display manager (X Server): Log out of your desktop environment and switch to a TTY console using Ctrl + Alt + F1. Then stop the service: bash
sudo service lightdm stop # or gdm3, kdm, etc. depending on your display manager
Run the installer: Make the file executable and run it: bash
chmod +x NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-*.run sudo ./NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-*.run
Follow the on-screen prompts. The installer should handle DKMS and OpenGL integration. Reboot: bash
sudo reboot now
Verification After rebooting, open a terminal and verify the installation with: bash
nvidia-smi
This command should output your driver version and GPU status.

Исправление зависимостей: sudo apt --fix-broken install Эта команда поможет устранить проблемы с пакетами при конфликтующих зависимостях.
